National Avenue closure planned during major Hull roadworks scheme
Work is set to get underway later this month which ‘will include several major upgrades’ A full closure will begin at the end of the month on a major Hull route as improvement works get underway. Hull City Council has announced the next phase of its road upgrade programme, focusing on National Avenue and County Road North. The works, which are expected to take around eight weeks in total, will be carried out in three phases. These include a full road closure of National Avenue between the junctions of County Road North and Bricknell Avenue from Monday, March 30 until Friday, April 24. The second phase, which runs concurrently with the first but starting a week later from Monday, April 6 until Friday, April 24, will also see the footpath at the junction of County Road North and National Avenue closed to allow for resurfacing and reconstruction works. From, and including, Saturday, April 25 until Sunday, May 3, the junction will be open as usual to road users, pedestrians, and cyclists. Finally, the third phase will see temporary traffic signals put in place from Monday, May 4. However, the left turn onto County Road North from National Avenue will be closed. National Avenue itself will remain open, aside from this restricted turning movement. This phase is set to be completed by Friday, May 22.
