It features a list of scheduled highway improvements, utility installations, and investigation projects set to impact key routes across the city. Some disruption is expected to continue at critical bottlenecks, including the full closure of Drypool Bridge for ongoing structural repairs and major roundabout upgrades on Ennerdale and Wawne Road. Drivers are being strongly urged to double-check their routes, consider public transport where possible, and allow extra time for their journeys. Below is the breakdown of upcoming and ongoing roadworks scheduled to impact the area beyond June 28: Alfred Gelder Street: Highway improvement works between Lowgate and Drypool Bridge are underway from June 15, 2026, and are expected to run until late July, 2026. A full road closure is currently in place. Anlaby Road: Northern Powergrid utility works outside 374 Anlaby Road began on June 23, 2026, and are scheduled for completion on June 29, 2026. A lane closure is active. Arnold Lane: O2 utility works will require multi-way signals from July 6, 2026, until July 10, 2026. Ashcombe Road: Excavation works in the footway to supply utilities to plots 125–140 of a new development will take place from July 6, 2026, to July 17, 2026, requiring multi-way signals. Barham Road: A Northern Powergrid cable replacement scheme at the Marfleet Lane junction is ongoing from June 10, 2026, and will continue until August 24, 2026. Multi-way signals are active. Barnes Way: Footway excavations for utility connections to new development plots 125–140 will run from July 6, 2026, to July 17, 2026, utilizing multi-way signals. Carden Avenue: Northern Powergrid utility works are ongoing from June 16, 2026, and will remain in place with multi-way signals until June 30, 2026. Commercial Road: Road core investigatory work by Hull City Council will take place on July 7, 2026, under multi-way signals. County Road South: Core investigatory works from numbers 109 to 135 will be carried out on July 8, 2026, requiring two-way signals.
