Calvert Lane junctions could see improvements under council budget proposals
Hull Daily Mail Icon News Hull & East Yorkshire News Hull City Council Budget proposals vow to fund improvements to get Calvert Lane moving Plans to reduce congestion on Hull’s Calvert Lane could include improvements to the junctions at both ends of the road, Hull City Council has said. Funding to improve the road has been included in the council leader’s 2026/27 Budget proposal which is to be voted on in the coming weeks. The council leader’s proposals announced earlier this month include “a commitment of funding to develop Calvert Lane, getting the route moving to make it easier for people to go about their lives.” Cllr Mike Ross, leader of the council, said his plans look to deliver “a better city for the people of Hull.” It remains very early days for any such improvements, especially as the budget is yet to be approved. This includes potential improvements to the junctions at both the Derringham roundabout and the Anlaby Road signalised junction. “This proposal is subject to approval by Full Council and, if agreed, will require detailed design work and public consultation before any delivery timescales can be confirmed.” Councillors are set to vote on the Budget proposals at a Full Council meeting on February 26. The proposals also include a 4.99% increase to council tax. Last year the council announced a scheme to help the flow of traffic on Calvert Lane by upgrading signals. At the time, the council’s portfolio holder for transport, Cllr Mark Ieronimo said: “As a council, we are always working proactively to improve and enhance the city’s highway network for motorists, the travelling public and for pedestrians.” Did you know you can make Hull Live a preferred sour…
