In a bid to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility, footpath improvements and a zebra crossing have been announced for Richmond Lane, Kingswood. By upgrading the existing crossing point at the junction of School Lane with a new zebra crossing, the council hopes this will provide a safer crossing facility for residents, including children travelling to and from school. The footpath in the immediate vicinity of the new crossing will also get resurfaced. Works are scheduled to begin on Monday, February 16, and are expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting. For the safety of the contractors and the traveling public, the work will be completed under a road closure, with a diversion route in place via Grosvenor Road. Access will be maintained for emergency services and bin collections throughout the scheme. The council said that letters have been delivered to all residents affected by these works.
