Dangerous drivers, people caught driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and those without licences or insurance have been sentenced by magistrates in Hull in recent days. Appearing at Hull Magistrates' Court, many motorists from across Hull and East Yorkshire were handed lengthy driving bans, points on their licences and hefty fines for an array of driving offences. Here are eight driving offenders who were sentenced by magistrates in Hull last week. He was disqualified from driving for one year, ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay a £114 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service. Artis Balodis, 54, of Morpeth Street, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit, driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after a road accident. He was disqualified from driving for two years, given 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay a £114 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
