This week’s round-up of the latest roadworks They are frustrating for motorists, but necessary to keep our roads up to scratch and traffic flowing freely once the work is done. There are roadworks ongoing in and around the city, some of them which are long-term projects. Here is your list of all the ongoing and upcoming roadworks in the area, as announced by Hull City Council. They include the two-month closure of Drypool Bridge. A63 improvement scheme (St James Street to Market Place): Major A63 Improvement scheme – full infrastructure change, operating under a Development Control Order which gives the powers to National Highways to implement this scheme. Lane and road closures until completion of scheme. Until Spring 2026. Chanterlands Avenue: Repair defect in carriageway outside number 400. Two-way signals in place. November 1 – November 2. Drypool Bridge: Full bridge closure to facilitate major repair and strengthening works. (A road closure between Lowgate and Clarence Street will also be in place to facilitate major District Heating network installation. These works have been coordinated with the closure of Drypool Bridge to avoid future disruption). Until late November 2025. Lane closure in place near number 800. Until October 31. Guildhall Road: Public realm works, including paving, surfacing, drainage, retaining walls and ducting within Queens Gardens and along Guildhall Road, Wilberforce Drive and Queens Dock Avenue. Humber Dock Street: Public realm works, road closure in place. Works are to take place on the public right of way along Humber Dock Street between junctions with Blanket Row and Humber Street.
