Humberside Police said the crash happened at around 9.55pm on Sunday (January 18) on a stretch of the A614 in the Holme-on-Spalding-Moor area. A 27-year-old man and a 55-year-old man sadly died at the scene. The road was closed to traffic overnight, and opened at around 8.45am today. Police say they are now looking for witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward. A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers are investigating a two-vehicle road traffic collision in which two men sustained fatal injuries near to Holme Road in Holme on Spalding Moor at around 9.55pm last night (Sunday, 18 January 2026). “It is reported a blue Land Rover was travelling northbound along the A614 from Howden towards Holme on Spalding Moor when it is believed to have been in collision with a white Ford Transit Van, travelling in the opposite direction, near to Holme Road outside of Chestnut Farm. “Emergency services attended and the two occupants of the Land Rover, a 27-year-old man and 55-year-old man, were pronounced deceased at the scene. “The driver of the van, a 31-year-old man, was taken to hospital for injuries which are believed to be life changing at this time. “Road closures were put in place at the time on the A614, Spaldington near Howden to allow emergency services to work safely, and the road has now been reopened. “If anyone witnessed the incident, was in the area at the time, or h…
