£190,000 upgrade works to begin on East Yorkshire rural road…

The stretch along Common Road, between Wallingfen Lane and Jarratt Hill Lane, at Broomfleet, near Brough, will be upgraded during the scheme. It will include “resurfacing, patching in areas, and some structural work to strengthen parts of the road in order to improve its durability and safety”. The project is set to begin on Monday, October 6 and is expected to take around three weeks to complete. Work will be carried out during the daytime with the section of the road being worked on closed to all through traffic during the construction period. Access to properties will be maintained. A signed diversion will be in place during the works. The work is to be carried out by East Riding Of Yorkshire Council ’s own road maintenance team. Councillor Paul West, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “Thank you to residents and drivers in this area for bearing with us while we carry out this essential work to improve and strengthen this section of road in Broomfleet.” The council said earlier this month it is investing in a series of “short-scale road repairs” around the area including on Minster Way, Beverley, as well at sites in Bainton, Fridaythorpe, Goole, Stamford Bridge, Howden and Driffield.
