Tragedy as motorcyclist dies after Boxing Day crash

The father-of-two has been named by his family as 51-year-old Douglas Noble. Paying tribute to Douglas, his family said: “Douglas was a loving son, a father of two and a friend to many. We take solace in the fact that Douglas had spent an afternoon doing what he loved, out riding his bike with his friends. “He will be missed dearly by his entire family and we ask for privacy while we come to terms with our loss.” Humberside Police closed the junction of B1248 and A166 in Wetwang following the incident at 1:30pm on Friday afternoon. The force said the driver of a silver Kia Rio was involved in a collision with the rider of a red Honda motorbike. Emergency services attended the scene and the motorcyclist, Douglas, was taken to hospital to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries. Tragically, Douglas died in hospital on December 27. His family are being supported by specially trained officers at this difficult time. Humberside Police is continuing to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam or CCTV footage from around the time the incident occurred.
