Holderness Road is part-closed eastbound due to a burst water main and the repairs currently have no end date. The road is shut eastbound at Woodford Leisure Centre, although cars can still enter and exit the car park for the leisure centre by following a route marked out in traffic cones. Road access to East Park is unaffected because closure is further up. Cars travelling eastbound are reduced to a single lane of traffic in the approach towards the roadworks and then have to turn off at Lodge Street or make a U-turn unless they are visiting the leisure centre. Bus companies diverting eastbound services down Summergangs Road, then turn right onto James Reckitt Avenue, and then right onto Ings Road, where traffic can rejoin Holderness Road. A huge spurt of water from the burst pipe was shooting upwards as they worked. When Hull City Council posted a tweet about the leak, it said work was estimated to last “several days”. Yorkshire Water confirmed on its website that a leak in Holderness Road is currently “under investigation” and an update would be provided when more information was available. Hull Live observed that the Morrisons bus stop, for buses heading westbound towards the city centre, was still in use. It appeared that westbound services towards the city centre were unaffected
