Hull City Council has confirmed the appointment of Esh Construction Limited and Mason Clark Associates to carry out repair work on Drypool Bridge, in a move the council says is 'a significant milestone'. An inspection in April revealed significant deterioration to several load-bearing columns beneath Drypool Bridge, including rusting and breaking steel, which led to emergency closures. The historic Clarence Street structure will now undergo comprehensive repairs to guarantee its safety and continued use. The work is estimated to cost at least £7m.
