There are ongoing traffic problems caused by an enormous wind turbine blade being transported in the Hull area today. Drivers were experiencing “long delays” with the A63 “partially blocked due to abnormal load” between the A15 at Hessle and the B1231 at Melton, according to the traffic reporting system Inrix. Police have warned drivers to “please be aware” of the situation with other roads also affected as the blade moves through the area. Police said the load will travel to Dunnington in North Yorkshire. Witnesses said the turbine had a police escort and warned drivers to avoid the area. Posting about the problem at 10am, one witness said there was “standing traffic” in Hedon Road as the blade moved towards the A63.
