Four people have been injured in a serious six-vehicle crash near the cement works in Melton. The emergency services, including Yorkshire Air Ambulance, were scrambled to Melton Bottom near the Mill Road turn-off towards Swanland following the crash at around 6pm on Wednesday. Hull Live understands two cars were initially in a collision and then other vehicles were caught up. Witnesses posting in Hull Live's Traffic and Travel group on Facebook said Good Samaritans helped to stop the traffic after the crash. They also checked the occupants of the vehicles were OK before the emergency services arrived. Four people were taken to hospital. Humberside Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance with witnesses describing two fire engines flashing blue lights at the scene. The fire service said two victims were “medically trapped and assisted out of vehicles.” A Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter landed near the site of the crash (Image: Flight Radar / Google Maps) Firefighters also used small tools to make a car safe that was at risk of ignition. Police are now investigating the cause of the crash and have appealed for witnesses or people with footage to come forward.
