Motorists in Hull have been warned of “significant disruption” to travel in and around the city today (Sunday, April 14). Humberside Police put out an alert earlier this morning about the movement of an abnormal load that is expected to bring more traffic chaos to the area. It follows two previous journeys made by transporters carrying huge wind turbine blades, in less than a fortnight. This load is understood to be the third wind turbine blade needing to be transported out of the city, and on to its destination in East Yorkshire. A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Please be aware of an abnormal load travelling through our force area. Please avoid the area where possible.” People commented on Facebook about the alert, with many wanting to know what time the load would be passing through and where.
