A school on Bilton Grange, east Hull, is closed today after a fatal collision outside the gates yesterday evening. Oakfield School, in Hopewell Road, confirmed that it will not open again until Monday (April 15) after the collision involving a member of the public. As reported by Hull Live, emergency services were called to the junction of Hopewell Road and Amethyst Road on Thursday afternoon. In a statement, the school said: “Oakfield School is closed to staff and pupils (including offsite placements) on Friday April 12 2024 owing to a serious incident involving a member of public outside of the school gates on Thursday. Witnesses described seeing a a heavy police presence, with the fire and ambulance services also at the scene. Humberside Police advised motorists to avoid the area.
