AI trial cuts traffic delays in one Hull road ‘by…

Traffic delays in a Hull street were reduced by 88 hours in one week, during a trial of AI technology, the council has said. Hull City Council launched the trial in Anlaby Road last month. Artificial intelligence was used to manage traffic light timings in order to help improve traffic flow. The live trial was conducted on a stretch of Anlaby Road between Hull Royal Infirmary and De La Pole Avenue, in the week of February 19-25. The council is now investigating ways to implement the technology.
