They are frustrating for motorists, but necessary to keep our roads up to scratch and traffic flowing freely once the work is done. There are long term roadworks ongoing in and around the city, but there are also shorter term ones planned. Here is your definitive list of all the ongoing and upcoming roadworks in the area, as announced by Hull City Council. A63 – St James Street to Market Place: Major A63 improvement scheme – full infrastructure change. Lane and road closures until completion of scheme, expected Spring 2026. Anlaby Road: Gas works. Bus lane closure from Hull Royal to the junction of Park Street/Icehouse Road. Until May 30. Beverley Road: Gas works. Lane closure in place from number 53 to the junction of Margaret Street. Until July 11. Boulevard: Carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing from Hessle Road to Witty Street. Road closure in place. Until May 4. Brighton Street: Carriageway resurfacing at the Brighton Street, Witty Street, and Freightliner Road roundabout. Road closure in place. May 2 to 7. Danube Road: Installing drainage connections for new Living With Water aquagreen. Also sewer works and the creation of a speed hump. Road closure in place. Until June 13.
