Lorry ‘gets stuck in roadworks’ on A63 in Hull city…

A large lorry became stuck in the roadworks section of the A63, causing long tailbacks eastbound earlier today. Witnesses posted about the problem on Hull Live's Traffic & Travel Facebook page. “Wide load stuck in the roadworks in town going east,” warned Jacob Horner. A photo submitted by a user appeared to show the wide load trapped between concrete barriers, which have been put in place to separate lanes of traffic at Mytongate where a new underpass is being built. Motorists reported tailbacks extending all the way to the Humber Bridge. Traffic service Inrix reported: “A63 Castle Street eastbound closed, queueing traffic due to brokendown vehicle from Daltry Street to Princes Dock Street. Congestion to Priory Way.” Earlier this week motorists who head into Hull on the A63 were advised to allow more time for their journeys over the next few days, following changes to the road layout. According to National Highways, which manages the A63, the new split-level Mytongate junction is due to be completed next year.
